N.B. This is not our standard heater ring and is designed for use with 4" and larger domes.
This heater module has been designed specifically for use within All Sky Camera systems. The module affixes around the camera inside the clear dome and when powered, delivers a nice amount of heat to the dome, stopping it from fogging up on 'dewy' nights. The inner diameter of the module is 70mm, the outer is 90mm.
The heater module will fit inside the 4" and 4.5" optical domes that we supply.
The unit runs from a 12v DC source and can be purchased with and without power cabling and various connector options. Current draw at 12v is 0.29A (3.5 Watts).

"Having run an AllSky Camera on & off over several years, dew forming within the dome had always been a problem. Finally, it was time to either scrap the camera or rebuild it with some form of effective dew control. Having a large dome, the ASC02 Dew Heater Module would be a natural fit for both the camera lens and the existing dome. A new 150mm OD sewer pipe housing was prepared with a 65mm centered hole drilled, and some anti-reflective flocking installed to reduce reflected light. Rather than use the pre-drilled holes for the connecting wiring, I used a heavier gauge wire which needed a different entry point. Both the dew heater module and dome were fixed with very high bond double sided tape and finally the dome was sealed with silastic. Dew Control were easy to deal with, even from the other side of the world. The product was prepared & sent quickly, the parcel was well packed and postal charge was quite reasonable. Perfect fit and size
"Fits my sky cam perfectly. This is my second Dew Heater module the first only lasted four years before it shorted out in some rather conductive dew. This is another way "to convince someone" to restore the sky camera... But this time with the large Dew Heater ring, which fits perfectly under my 6mm deep-sea glass dome (including a 3D-printed base with drains, to keep it centered and in place and slightly above conductive liquids). I'm glad I found Tim's shop back then, and especially a heater like this for my allsky camera (ZWO Astro-Cam)." T. - 14 October 2025
