This Serial/RS232 cable is used to update the Synscan Hand Controller firmware. The cable plugs directly into the RJ11 telephone style port at the base of the controller and into a spare serial port on the computer.

N.B. If you do not have a serial port connection on your computer, you will need a USB to serial adapter. You will need one that utilises the FTDI chipset, as these will have drivers that work with Windows 10. You may encounter problems when using Prolific chipset versions, as Skywatcher and Windows 10/11 seem to have issues with this chipset.
